The 2007 Review - a Year of PC Gaming

YouGamers' Ones to Watch for 2008

Ah, the best bit - what we're all looking forward to in 2008! First of all though, if you're not sure as to what top titles are coming in the next twelve months, then I suggest you hot-foot it over to Aaron's monster preview of all the goodies to come!

Joe has gone for Fallout 3 and Starcraft 2, Daniel for Little Big Planet, and Claudio for Brütal Legend, arguing that "Tim Schafer and Jack Black can't be wrong!

Bethesda's Fallout 3

Blizzard's Starcraft 2

Sony's Little Big Planet

Sierra's Brütal Legend

Antti picked Alan Wake and Fallout 3: "Remedy and Bethesda, two developers with strong pedigrees, release two highly anticipated single player titles. Looking at the companies' track record, neither is going to disappoint." But Aaron was greedy and went for 4 titles: Spore, Alan Wake (again) , Alone in the Dark, with Fable 2 "getting an honorary mention, but given Molyneaux's track record, it will be half the game he promises (with 1/2 of that half broken or otherwise gimped."

EA's Spore

Microsoft's Alan Wake

Atari's Alone in the Dark

Microsoft's Fable 2

The WoW nerds, Jarno and Jani, were naturally rather predictable with their choices (admittedly though, they're not exactly alone with such a decision)! Jarno: "Nothing indicates that World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King will be anything but yet another swing out of the park, extending the life of World of Warcraft for another year with more of the same, done even better. Now don't get me wrong - I would love to see actual innovation in MMOs, but as BioWare probably can't get their MMO thingy out until 2009 the earliest, this is probably the best we're going to see in 2008. Yep - I'm pretty much writing off Warhammer Online already. Call it a gut feeling, and join in praying that I'm wrong." Jani: "...just because it's guaranteed to be good, whereas all others are more or less likely to fail :)"

As for me, well I'll take all of the above, but I personally can't wait for Moria to be added to Lord of the Rings Online and, if ever appears, Elite 4!
