Top 10 Scariest PC Games

How the voting went

Since this wasn't really our poll for the Top 10 Scariest PC games, it makes sense to show exactly how the voting really went - and it was surprisingly close at the top. The image to the left is a nifty pie chart displaying the percentage slice of the total count that each entry in the list collected. And before any pedants email us to complain, yes we know it doesn't add up to 100! The remaining 19.9% was the rest of the list with over 20 games only receiving a single vote.

Statistically it wasn't the most reliable of surveys as there was only around 220 or so votes in total and stato nerds are almost certainly going to start moaning about confidence values and whatnot. But the actual positions are really that relevant - what's more important is that people found certain games to be genuinely scary and it didn't really matter about the graphics either. The chosen few could all drive your imagination into overload or kick your heart rate around with a big shock, and you all loved them for it.

PC technology and capabilities have grown beyond recognition since the original Doom was released, 14 years ago. High resolution, widescreen monitors, multispeaker surround sound and breathtaking graphics are all within the pocket of a typical gamer - be it PC or a console. Developers now have powerful tools at their disposal to create an even better experiences: the fear can be more intense, more graphic. PC titles are ready to not only match movies, shock for shock, but beat them at their own game.

Here's looking forward to being spooked even more in the future!
