World in Conflict Interview with Massive EntertainmentDevelopment progress and final release dateYouGamers: You've mentioned final release a few times, seems like it's on everybody's mind. When is World of Conflict coming out? Karlson: Q4... Westberg: September or October, makes it easier. YouGamers: You must have a huge crunch ahead of you! Westberg: We have a lot of work to do, but it's not too bad. Because of these two-week iterations that I talked about, we don't have too many bugs. The game is quite stable, so we have a lot of time for polish, which is a very nice situation to be in. I'm kind of excited about the summer, even though it's very long hours, because we've been working on it for two and a half years and this is the last stretch. Karlson: As Niklas said, every two weeks we have a new, playable version. That's why we constantly strive for stability, so we can test everything on an iteration basis.
Westberg: I've been jumping between styles. My two favorites are just playing Armor and going for the command points, because I like winning. I don't really care how many people I kill, I will take command points and just make sure we dominate the map and win! Sometimes I play Air, and go with my helicopters and make everybody else's life miserable. Karlson: Most of the time I play Armor and take command points. That's one of the best ways to gain Tactical Aid points, and I love Tactical Aid points. I love blowing stuff up! So that's great for me, but the Support role can be very rewarding as well - to have a successful round of playing heavy artillery, taking out lots and lots of units from long distances, and putting anti-air units and repair tanks on the field. That's a very nice change from the aggressive role of Armor, so I like Armor first and Support second.
Karlson: It's viral. Westberg: [laughs] Yes, it's an amazing thing to see. World in Conflict is certainly looks amazing, and we can't wait to give you the latest news about it and review the final version when it comes out. Many thanks to Mathias and Niklas from Massive Entertainment for taking the time for this interview, and stay tuned to YouGamers for more World in Conflict coverage!
