In this blog, Nick Renqvist, a 3DMark developer, YouGamers/Futuremark Site Manager and an enthusiastic gamer rambles about pretty much everything and the kitchen sink. And sometimes about 3DMark too. This is THE place to catch some never-seen-before shots from the past and the future.
3DMark Vantage Is Real!

I know I promised the shots a long time ago, but finally they are real and available for all of you:
http://www.3dmark.com
The feedback so far has been overwhelming, and I have to admit, the shots look insanely good. The benchmark is shaping up to look darn impressive, and in motion it looks even better. The shots aren't doing justice to all the new and visually pleasing effects.
Some users have asked why parts of the shots look a bit blurry and if the textures are low-res. Well, to answer this without spilling any beans I'll just say; think post-processing effects. In 3DMark06 we really had some nice post-processing effects (you can read more about them in the 3DMark06 Whitepaper), but in 3DMark Vantage the guys took the whole pass into sixth gear. Soon you'll get to see what treats the guys came up with. There are some effects I've never seen in real-time before.
In all, what you see in the shots will soon be played on your screen in real-time, supposing you have a DirectX10 compliant graphics card and Windows Vista. The next generation benchmarking is about to begin.
If you'd like to make sure you are ready for 3DMark Vantage and don't want to guess, head over here.
Take care and keep your eyes on the http://www.3dmark.com page. We will soon update it with more screenshots, developer diaries and more..
Cheers,
Nick

When you say soon, does that mean days, weeks, or months? The new shots look great.
