Peacekeeper moves out of beta

Peacekeeper is now out of the beta phase.

These are the major changes between the beta and current version (as of May 11th):

- Some of the tests have changed from the beta version and some tests have been removed, this affects scoring, so new Peacekeeper scores are not comparable to beta scores.

- Suite scores have been added. Different suite scores represent performance in different JavaScript operations. This makes it possible to see in more detail where the performance differences between different browsers come from. Suite scores are calculated as geometric means of corresponding test scores.

Click on the result bars to see suite scores.

Current suites are Rendering, Social networking, Complex graphics, Data, DOM operations and Text parsing.

- The new Complex graphics -suite contains all new tests that test more complex graphics capabilities using the new 'Canvas' web technology. 'Canvas' is currently not yet supported by all major browsers. For browsers that do not support Canvas the tests are skipped. The experimental suite doesn't affect the overall score, so this has no effect on the Peacekeeper score.

- Overall score formula has also changed. Now overall score is calculated as the geometric mean of all suite scores (excluding the Complex graphics suite)

- The results page chart with scores for different browsers and CPU's has been tweaked. The graph now contains scores for two browser versions of the five most popular browsers (generally the latest stable release and a recent beta) with some popular modern CPU's.

- There exists a new "Statistics"-page (link to http://service.futuremark.com/peacek...tistics.action) that displays CPU and browser performance data as well as browser popularity in Peacekeeper.

- You can now follow Peacekeeper happenings on Twitter from our new feed: http://twitter.com/fm_peacekeeper

And that's it for the major changes!

Oh, and the result page chart is currently showing results from the beta -version. This will update once we get some fresh data, so please run the new Peacekeeper! :)

Edited suite names in this post to match the new, more descriptive names.
