Default BioShock

It's not what the media hype prophesied, nor what you might have personally expected, but thankfully BioShock is none the worse for this. In fact, it's prob... no - don't have any preconceptions. Enter the world of Rapture with an open mind and fill it with images, videos and all the technology you need to know about, right here in our review. Then go and buy it!

I recently built a new q6600, 8800gtx based rig and this game looks and plays great on it. I found it easy to get involved into it with it's alternate history based storyline and the minor details of the happy-go-lucky 50's era. Finding new ways to torture splicers as I shoot my way through never gets old.

Nice visuals and most of the areas are well built. One problem I have seen is the bodies sometimes twitch after they are dead. Fire always looks cool wether setting standing pools of oil on fire or setting your enemies on fire. Decent choice of wepons, however with upgrades available its almost destined to run around with the grenade launcher and blow everything up. The role-playing aspect of the game has little effect from what I've seen. I choose to harvest the children of all their ADAM, while a friend chooses to let them go, and after discussing it, has little effect on the way the game is played. He gets less ADAM for releasing them is all. (ADAM is points to be spent on genetic upgrades) Hacking is a fun mini game, however can get annoying if there is no path to get to the other side. Consists of conecting tubes to get from one side to another. Sometimes there are detonators or alarms in the path and there is no way to get around it. The benifits can be more gear at cheaper prices available at vending machines, or friendly robots that run around and catch splicers trying to creep up on you. Hearing explosions go off in the adjacent room only to run and find a pile of dead bodies is a nice suprise.

Over all I think its a good game. It has a decent fun factor with some of the comical cut scenes for new genetics, and a good story line.

I recently started playing this game.. I know that I'm late ... But anyways, I started playing this and I can't get enough of it... The gameplay is awsome and the story is too, but what I like about this game is that its stressfull and it wakes me up.. thats what I love about games. Thank you 2K games !

I got it for 5 dollars of of steam, what a deal. I just beat it; it has an incredible story. Make sure you find as many diaries as possible.

K.... I am having Problem playing BioShock Here...

I have installed it on to My System with 8800 GT Alpha Dog Edition....And Windows 7 RC x64 OS...

The installation went all correctly....
But as soon as I start the game.... The Black screen first comes....
And then no progress at all...

Is it due to 64 bit OS...or what..

I have not installed any patch or fixes though....
If there is any patch..... Can somebosy direct me to one

Regards...

Its not to do with 64-bit, Id put it more to you using a beta OS that still has bugs and quirks in it

I dont know what there isnt to get tbh! Bioshock works in 64-bit as I played it through on Vista 64. The operating system that you are using though is still not a fully released product and will still have bugs in it.

You could try installing/running it in Vista compatability mode.
