Default Medieval 2: Total War Kingdoms

Sega's strategy series marches onwards, reaping victories and accolades with every release. The latest offering, an expansion pack for Medieval II falls in line with the media and fans' expectations alike, giving more of everything but streamlined and polished. Doff your sword and armour once more and prepare to do battle, Total War style!

It seems many of the newer top end graphics cards from nvida and also ATI are not showing shadows from vegetation in the original Medieval 2: Total War, at least thats what ive read and also notice on my pc.
Looking at the picures in this review of the expansion it seems there is still no shadows from the vegetation i'm curious as to what card was used when those pics were made and was the same issue seen on the lower end of the latest from Nvidia and ATI ?

Those pictures were all taken using Radeon HD2900XT.

I can't recall the visuals being any different on the other cards I tested it with.
