Medal of Honor: Airborne
When the competition is breaking new ground with modern warfare, Medal of Honor: Airborne keeps the WWII shooter series firmly in familiar territory. It's once again time to don tin helmets and retake Europe from Nazi Germany.

Re: Medal of Honor: Airborne
It was a fun game. Looks pretty, and plays smooth. Some cool things here and there will be found. I really enjoyed the controls layout. A lot better then from what I remember. (Console) A.I. was great and sure wasn't afraid to charge me when I was reloading.
Though, this is a MoH game, and it does feel, act, and sound like every other MoH game ever made. So that might annoy you little like it did me. Basically the same game, just with a different skin.

Re: Medal of Honor: Airborne
This game was great, the graphics were pretty (except for the lack of filters, JAGGIES AHOY!!!) and the gameplay was solid. I agree with alot of things in the review but some things you should let slide. Medal of Honor has never been realistic, it was always on the arcady side of things and this new one is no different.
BTW, the Flak Tower Level is not completely imaginary. I know the storm elites are fake and the airborn never took place in a mission like that but the towers are real, heres a link.

Also sorry if I bumped a dead thread.

Interesting. Another tidbit to squirrel away in my mental lint-trap!
Thank you.

Re: Medal of Honor: Airborne
Thanks for the feedback! I'm happy to see that people read our archived content. You're right about MoH series not trying to be the most realistic shooter out there, but I still found the contrast between the intro movies' pathos and the "Wolfensteiney" gameplay a bit jarring.
About the flak towers - the review doesn't claim they didn't exist, just that the mission was completely imaginary (whereas the game's other missions were based on historical events). An aerial assault on a flak tower is a really dumb idea anyway, I don't know what MoH:A's writers were thinking

Re: Medal of Honor: Airborne
I bought this game when it came out...loaded it...but never played it. Is it worth the effort?

Depends on if your system has the power for it. Some people complained of stuttering (frame rate fluctuation?) at high effects levels, an issue that was never quite resolved. Other than that, it was a fun game and one of the few I actually finished.
(and still occasionally replay!)

Re: Medal of Honor: Airborne
Eventhough the flak tower mission is imaginary, its probably one of the best missions in any world war II game to date (My opinion) Its also really challenging, which is all part of the fun .
