Default Need for Speed: ProStreet

Despite the Need for Speed series being a stroppy teenager (quite literally, as it's 13 years old), NFS: ProStreet is aiming to be all hip, cool and realistic, rather than its previous attempts of illegal, arcade nonsense. We walk around the chassis, kick the tyres and pretend to know all about fuel injection, as we give you the low-down on the forthcoming release.

I hope they do not tried to go full on sim style, I doubt they will, because the arcady part is what I have always enjoyed about NFS.

The video looks like they beefed up the texture res and poly counts and made all the effects much more subtle. Makes it look much more realistic. Its nice looking indeed.

The best NFS were 1,2 & 3 since then they have been much less enjoyable, however i did watch the video for this NFS ProStreet and saw a bit that reminded me of one of the desert tracks in NFS 2 (not 100% sure may have been NFS 3).

Is this SM 3.0 only? Or SM 2.0b cards can play the game?

I really hope this one is more difficult than Carbon... I think I didn't lose a single race. A difficulty slider would be nice.

SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT:

Keep your ears peeled for a little known band called The Neon Plastix in this games soundtrack. My mate plays keyboard etc for them, n he's well giddy to be featured in the game.

Let men know what cha think!!

Ea keeps churning out these games like clockwork and keeps forgetting tiny things.....
Like widescreen support and updates for game issues......
Then they abandon the last effort and give us another......
(Remember the poll on stuttering issues for NFSMW where EA just walked away?)
They get away with it (even I buy them) because even a kinda sucky racer is better than none at all, but the competition is geting better.....
In the meanwhile, Sega (and others) are working hard and just might eventually take back the "Fun" racing crown, forcing EA to stop being so lazy.
I will probably end up with this game, (4 months after launch when it drops to $19) and will probably even like it a bit, but given the lackluster support for thier other efforts, I am getting REALLY reluctant and jaded about EA racers.

Wow, something stood out about the graphics - the smoke trails look really, REALLY cool!
