Default Gears of War for Windows

XBox 360 gamers have been able to experience Epic's chaotic vision of mankind versus aliens for over a year now. Fortunately, this is no mere simple console port, as Gears of War for Windows comes with all kinds of extras and goodies. There's also something to spoil the party though, so read on for all the gory details.

One advice for all: DO NOT use your account on another PC or as another PC user. You WILL loose ALL of your savegames.

I should have worded that more sternly in the review, as I fell fate to the same ridiculous system. From the review:

Quote:
Warning: just like the console version, be aware that only one campaign progress file can be associated with a single Games For Windows Live account. While running some benchmarks, I started a new campaign with my primary Games For Windows Live sign-in, and promptly lost six hours of progress. Adding insult to injury, GFW Live would only let me start again from Chapters 1 and 5 in the story, seemingly oblivious to the fact that I must have also completed Chapters 2 through 4. A traditional PC save-game system would do just fine, thanks.

It can happen even without doing that...
It happened to me last night for no reason. All I did was decide to play for awhile where I left off after a few days playing normally and all saves were gone.
Talk about frustrating. This is supposedly a known issue and happening to tons of people, hopefully they will fix this horrible bug soon.

Whoever came up with the online save thing or whatever it is needs to fired asap.

No mere console port.
