Default Tabula Rasa

Ultima's creator, Richard Garriott, returns to PC gaming once more but this time, waves goodbye to fantasy worlds and says hello to Sci Fi. MMORPGs based on such a theme aren't a new thing and neither is having FPS elements, so what does Tabula Rasa have to offer the MMO gamer, looking for a change?

Anarchy Online has tons more content, and way more complex character classes & combat. I'd currently rate AO to be a better game than Tabula Rasa.

The theme is not that different, but gameplay is. Tabula Rasa is more fast-paced, guns blazing, piles of enemies, while AO is more of a traditional MMO with the combat and AO landscapes are just huge when compared to the fairly small zones of TR.

Ah well then apparently its not what I'm looking for!

I really liked the sci-fi atmosphere of AO and the detailed and complex leveling up system! Hopefully Funcom can make AO2!

Hmm, I must admit I forgot to mention that in the review. Oops. But yes, subscription only. About 15$/15e per month, first month is included in the price of the game.

Now see, I never rated Anarchy Online - just something about it never worked for me, yet I loved Tabula Rasa even if it is a bit shallower :)

I am in the same boat, couldn't really get into AO, just didn't do it for me, but i had tons of fun in the TR beta, thinking about maybe picking it up.
