Default Assassin's Creed min requirements updated

Some of you may remember our earlier news item about the rather steep minimum requirements of the forthcoming PC version of Ubisoft's hit Assassin's Creed. Those specs were quickly pulled from the web, but Ubisoft have done the right thing and put them back up, with changes.

I already have a PC capable of running this game. Maybe instead of buying a sucky console for 400$ you should upgrade your PC with that amount, believe me that's a wiser choice.

it is not necessarily a wiser choice, it's a matter of opinion. There are some games that you can't play on pc. like metal gear solid, the gta series, final fantasy, ninja gaiden 2, and a few others. It's all a matter of opinion. Of course PC is way ahead of consoles in the graphics department but prettier graphics don't make a better game. It's about gameplay and many other factors. The consoles aren't sucky. They're plug and play. PC on the other hand constantly crashes and you have to disable services and fool around with it a lot in order to get it working correctly. It also costs much more to keep the graphics up to date. I have 360 and a gaming laptop but I like achievements.

I guess if you don't know how to build a proper rig it will "constantly crash and have to disable services," but otherwise you shouldn't have any issues with most games. Moreover, this generation of consoles are plagued with the same issues some PC games have. Lets not get into the 360 repair issue, either (I have had 2 fail). As for cost... $500-600 will buy you a PC that can handle any of todays games.

Man, I wish people would think before they type.

i agree with you matt, i have a nice pc that i keep up to date and i think that power and reliability compared to my 360 and ps3 is a higher ratio per dollar, not to mention all the nice little extra perks, and i have 4 pcs running xp and i have to say i REALLY like the one i am running vista on and have no problems with it. on the other hand i would not have to upgrade for years because of consoles if i dont want to because they lock the spec for pc very low, the console gamers dont seem to understand that you do not have to play the game at the highest setting on pc, it is adjustable.

Seriously. you dont need to spend a lot of money to stay in the latest games at good resolutions. Ive upgraded my PC 2x in the past 4 years. the 1st one was a much overdue jump from a p3-500, 512mb pc-100, gf4mx440 -to-> axp2500+,2gb ddr-400, 9600xt in fall 2003 in prep for CS:S. i just upgraded again from that to a e2140@2.4ghz 2gb ddr2-800, x1950pro back in oct 07. total cost was ~ $850 from the p3 to current. i plan another upgrade in the fall to a new motherboard and a new high/mid range Video card. even after im done i will still have spent less money than it costs to get a ps3 and a xbox360 to play all these "awesome" games you guys get on console which we dont get on PC. such as this shining example of ...... whatever called ASS-ass-ins creed. I mean Rally? min requirements are a Dual Core proc and 2gb of ram? Crysis min requirements are a 2ghz single core proc, 1 gig of ram and any video card made in the past 3 years (dx9.0).

Crysis has a Gian island that loads on the fly with no loading screens except between levels. you can go from one end of the island to the other and not have to load 1 time. Assy Creed is on the other hand a game with a tighter level of focus, instead of wide expanses you have city walls and tight spaces. Why a game that doesnt look half as good as Crysis, is pretty boring and repetitive anyway, requires such a hefty system?

PC forever. Consoles Forever. I just hope more developers come back to the PC instead of dumbing down all the games and putting them on the consoles for people too retarded to operate a computer.

You tell them acme420!!!

Ill swing my magic wand and convert the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII and Kingdom hearts 3 and other PS3 exclusives to my PC and ill start playing it.

Doh!!, don't you realize people know that the PC exceeds the consoles in every possible way?
Many people, including me buy consoles to play GTA, MGS, FF, KH and many other titles which will not be released on the PC.

And yeah, i wish you the best of luck jerking off on the eye candy you get from your Uber imba l33tzor NASA PC while playing crappy mediocre games.
