Default Futuremark OverclocKing Competition 2008

Futuremark announces online overclocking competition for ASUS motherboards and video cards using 3DMark Vantage. The actual competition will start on October 15th, and you will be able to monitor top entries in real time. The competition is sponsored by ASUS and prizes include ASUS ROG G71 and G50 gaming laptops.

It'll be interesting to see if you can hit top 3 without some veeeery cold liquids.

Yeah, indeed... No chance there. Would have been nice if they included the "should be air cooled" restriction and "no sli allowed". Now all the rich people will win the stuff.

Pardon me for noticing, but arent the entry requirements sort of...restrictive? I mean I could understand one or the other, either you need to have an asus mobo OR an asus video card. But both? Was excited there for a minute...

Its the sponsorship; i mean, it really is just an asus advertisement, so they limit it to their hardware.

One Asus motherboard here, but there is not a chance I will be anywhere near the front running in this, I dont want to risk breaking my parts for the sake of potentially getting new ones.

So this competition allows rich people to win stuff, sell it on eBay and then get even richer
