Shadowrun combines modern weapons, cybernetic technology and magic to form a unique sci-fi-fantasy world. That's why it's sad to see Microsoft using the franchise as a marketing blunt instrument for Windows Vista. Shadowrun is the first cross-platform, competitive first-person shooter, pitting players from Xbox 360 and Vista platforms against each other - this is a whole new definition of a "format war". After the smoke has cleared, will Shadowrun beat the odds?
