Spore boasts nearly seamless gameplay from simple bacteria to galactic domination as you work your way through the evolutionary ladder with your custom creature. It is original, pretty and brings something fresh to the market filled by sequels and rehashes. But it's from Maxis, probably best known for The Sims - the final word in computerized dollhouses. Is there a game somewhere in Spore, or is it all just a pretty digital toy?
