Who?

After I was refered to this place by a fellow member called research monkey I went straight to the Homepages section to find out if there was any fun to be had. When I stumbled onto the default layout of this page I started having some ideas on how to modify and personalise it, the result of which you can see here :).

I usually spend my computer time playing various RPGs, watching anime, creating 'stuff', playing Pardus and a fun little game called Infantry. I'm also part of a team that hosts LAN parties from time to time for a small crowd of locals, great fun. I started gaming online playing the game Metal Fatigue (RTS), after which I started playing Quake 1 and its awesome mod Team Fortress. After playing quake for a while I was introduced to Infantry, which I played for a long while. After Infantry I went on to play the MMORPG Anarchy Online, followed by World of Warcraft, both I played with some rl friends of mine. I recently stopped playing WoW because it was getting a little too boring for my tastes and now I'm back playing Infantry and some Pardus on the side.

Right, this is what my computer actually looks like. When I was figuring out what parts to buy for this computer and stumbled onto the Lian-Li case you see here I fell in love, I really am into the aluminium look, though after all this time the case did gain some cuts and bruises, mainly because of traveling from and to LAN parties -.-.

Other then that I've got a Creative Audigy 2 ZS sound card, 240 GB of Harddisk space, a broken 3,5 floppy disk drive and a 17 inch CRT screen (yes that makes me cry as well).
When I bought this computer it initially had a Radeon 9600 Pro video card installed, which I later replaced with the Geforce 7800 GS. I've also had to replace the motherboard once which used to be a Abit IS7 with an ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe because it broke down on me.

From the time I bought this machine in dec. 2003 untill now it has given me much pleasure, although it really is starting to show its age lately with all these new kickass games coming out, I could really use an organic computer that upgrades itself and save muchos cash (patent pending :P).

My homepage

The homepage competition is something I could not ignore, its the perfect opportunity to let my creative mind wander and hopefully create a very nifty page that people can enjoy looking at, while of course I get a chance to win one of three prizes. At first I sticked to the template and edited as far as I could while maintaining all its contents, but when I found out creativity is all that counts I made up my mind and chose to build on top of the template and create something new from scratch. The result of my work is what you see here now. I hope you like looking at this page as much as I liked working on it.
Tools used: Photoshop (GFX), EditPlus (text editor) and a little Flash (I hate flash). Looks best in Firefox and Opera.

Update: Well the results for the competition are in and I'm very glad and proud to say that I won first prize! O.o Thank you Yougamers/Futuremark/Alienware for giving me this oppertunity. I'll be sure to update my rig section soon, hehe.
