My first - and the one that changed my life forever - experience with videogames was with a Vic 20 at my cousin's. She received it as a gift, and never spent too much time on it. I used to go to her house and play all afternoon with Gorf and Omega Race.
After some months my mom capitulated and bought me a C-64, where I used to spend a lot of time when I was a teen. I played with C64 and arcade games until 1995, when the first PC sneaked into my household. It was a Pentium@60Mhz with something like 16 MB RAM, 1.2 GB hard drive, a cutting edge multimedia kit (a 2x CD-ROM and a Soundblaster 16). Geez. I've been working as videogame journalist since 1998, writing for one of the most prominent italian videogame magazines, The Games Machine. I'm still a member of its editorial staff. Oh, eventually I managed to get a degree in software engineering ^___^ Best part of my life: my significant other and me got married on May 1st 2001. We have a delightful 5-year-old daughter. I love her, because she pretends to believe that I'm actually playing for work! Ludic stuff in my house:
Some of my favourite games (random and incomplete list, like ALL lists of this kind)
