Intel actually started the fight with this blog entry, dated 17th August, which pointed out the silicon giant had released new drivers for their integrated graphics chip, the G965: Now G965 owners can boast much higher performance and support for more games. Games like Call of Duty 2, Far Cry (the game used as a poor example by some of our competitors) and Battlefield 2 (which didn’t even run) are now playable. Having better integrated graphics is a good thing and both companies should be firmly pressured into improving both their hardware and drivers for the onboard stuff - not everyone has the funds or the means to use add-in graphics cards. However, it's pretty hypocritical of AMD to criticise Intel for having graphical issues in games; one only has to read through our reviews to notice that there are plenty of new titles with problems on AMD/ATI graphics cards - not exclusively so, but you don't fling mud about when you're already covered in it.
