Exclusive confirmation - Hellgate: London minimum requirements!
Noticed the Hellgate: London theme on the site yet? That's because we're having a special day for this game and we'll be giving you some hot scoops and info throughout the day. First up, though, is the exclusive confirmation of the minimum hardware requirements; in other words, this is the lowest spec PC you can get away with to run the Hellgate: London.
With kind thanks to the good people of Electronic Arts and Flagship Studios, here are the official and confirmed minimum requirements:
- OS: Windows XP with SP2 or Windows Vista
- Processor: 1 .8GHz or faster (2.4GHz for Vista)
- RAM: 1GB or more (2GB for Vista)
- Video: DirectX 9.0c/10 compatible device w/ 128MB RAM or better and Pixel Shader 2.0 support; requires NVIDIA GeForce 6200/ATI Radeon 9000 chipset or greater
- Audio: DirectX 9.0c compatible device
- Disc drive: 8x DVD or faster
- Hard drive: 6 GB or more free space
- Input: Keyboard and mouse
- Internet: Connection required for multiplayer
To clarify one point, not all of the ATI Radeon 9000 series has Pixel Shader 2.0 support - only the following ones do:
- Radeon 9500
- Radeon 9600
- Radeon 9700
- Radeon 9800
However, later on today we'll have something more to say on that matter and I'm sure it will please a lot of people! In the meantime, if you want to see just how well your PC stacks up against the above setup, then give the Hellgate: London Game-o-Meter a blast. Not only will it show you the relative performances (and they're not made up figures, look carefully at the graph!) but if you're short in any particular area, then it'll give you some suggestions as to what products you can buy to improve your system.
Please note that the DirectX 10 mode of the game is only available if you have Windows Vista and a DX10-compliant graphics card installed:
- ATI Radeon HD 2000 series (e.g. 2600, 2900)
- NVIDIA GeForce 8 series (e.g. 8600, 8800)
In addition to these, you'll also need a faster CPU (2.4GHz instead of 1.8GHz) and more system RAM.

The full game is better then the demo. the demo was just poor. but the beta was much better. also the Full retail game is better then the demo also. So you really cant judge it on the pos demo. |

I suppose, but thats what a demo is for me, to get a Idea of what the game will be like, the demo gets me interested, then if I like it I will buy the full game, from playing the demo it just seemed like it had all been done before, I don't know what different stuff is in the full game? but it cant be that much. |

hellgate london has always posed a problem when it comes to graphics. i am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Asus m4n82 deluxe mobo,
AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edittion 3.4ghz quad core processor,
2 Nvidia Geforce 9800gt video cards, 8GB Corsair XMS2 PC2 8500 1066 mhz, 7.1 Soundblaster audio and the graphics in the game are lacking in windows vista x64 and windows 7 x64,
i currently have the game running at the highest settings and it seems that the only thing that changes in the screen size. as soon as you go to load the game it disables the Aero color scheme every time. i have tried to find out why and have tried everything to improve the graphics quality of the game it seems that no matter what setting the game is at the graphics are lacking and it seems to eat up a lot of system resources always.
I have come to the conclusion after much research and trails of the setting that the game will not perform any better.
i would suggest based on your system to try running the resolution at 1024x768 using directx 9 option, set all of your graphics options to medium to high and that might help. |
