Futuremark publishes 3DMark and PCMark hotfix

Futuremark has just released a hotfix that applies to all of their current PC benchmarks - 3DMark03, 3DMark05, 3DMark06 and PCMark05. The package is an universal hotfix, updating the hardware detection routines of all affected benchmarks it finds installed on your system.

So what exactly is new?

- Updated GPU core/memory clock detection library for enhanced compatibility and support for new hardware

- New files are:

  • Direcpll.dll (4.10.1.93)
  • Entech.sys (5.0.1.1)
  • Entech64.sys (5.0.1.1)

The build number on any of the benchmarks does not change, and nothing is altered in the executables - this is just a fix applied to the accompanying DLL files, which are shared among all the current Futuremark benchmarks. The hotfix takes care of the hardware identification problem that has been causing hangs on startup when benchmarking systems with ATI Radeon HD 2x00 series video cards.

The hotfix is available at the Futuremark download pages

A full installer 3DMark06, with the hotfix already built in, will be released as soon as it's distributed to the download mirrors. Full installers for other benchmarks may appear at a later date - until then you can use the hotfix in combination with the old installers.

Oh, and did I mention? This update does not affect your benchmark scores in any way, shape or form.
