LOTRO wins best PC title at Golden Joystick Awards.

For 25 years, the Golden Joystick Awards has been UK's premier award ceremony, giving praise to everything to do with video gaming. We'll have a full report on the event very shortly but this brief news post is just to point out that the winner of the best PC title is Codemaster's The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar.

In fact, the only other PC title to pick up a lump plastic & metal was Blizzard's World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Ah, well, at least for next year, we should have the likes of Crysis and Portal in the running. In our full report we'll bring you news of what Codemasters has in store for LOTRO and what Ubisoft are expecting of Assassin's Creed.

As if this game deserves it. Atleast I know not to trust these awards.

If it's not the people deciding, it's worthless.

LOTRO is actually quite good and the past year wasn't the best for PC gaming.

Among all games... just strange, but if we were talking just MMOs then yea I can see that, LOTRO has had the fewest launch issues, lots of free stuff added, and is actually pretty darn fun.

LOTRO is not a bad game, but it's not award-worthy material either.
