Rail Simulator Demo Released

Giving us something new to try out today, the folks over at Kuju Entertainment have released a singleplayer demo for their latest train sim, Rail Simulator. Weighing in at 480mb, the demo features "a Black 5 running out of Bath Green Park, heading to Radstock and provides tutorial dialogs to help you along the way." You can grab this sucker from any of the following mirrors:

Rail Simulator is currently available in Europe and will be shipping in North America on January 16, 2008.

Yes! As a kid I was a big N-scale model railroader, but that was not a cheap hobby, especially for a kid.

Maybe now I can finally make those beautiful tracks that I could never have afforded and which would never have fit in my real room back then. (but which fit just fine, in my imagination)

I suspect if they ever made one with Crysis-level graphics, I and many others would probably explode from happiness right then and there.
