Electronic Arts CFO Resigns

Stirring things up tonight, Electronic Arts has issued a press release announcing the resignation of long-time Chief Financial Officer Warren Jenson. A reason for his departure was not given, but Mr. Jenson is expected to stick around until the end of the company's fiscal year to help an unnamed successor transition into the role. Here's a little snippet from the announcement:

“I want to thank Warren for the leadership he has provided in the past six years,” said EA Chief Executive Officer John Riccitiello. “He has built a first class Finance Department and has been a contributor to our growth and strategic initiatives.”

”My tenure at EA has provided me with many good friends and memories,” said Warren Jenson. “It’s time for me to write the next chapter in my career – and I wish EA the best in the dynamic period ahead.”

This shake-up comes right in the middle of EA's aggressive attempts to acquire Take-Two Interactive. A connection? Who knows...we can only speculate at this time :x
