UbiSoft Gets Steamed

On a more serious note today, UbiSoft has announced that they will be bringing more then 40 PC games to Valve Software's Steam digital distribution service over the next few weeks. The first titles available for purchase are Far Cry and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. Each coming with a 10% discount until April 8th. You can also pre-order the PC edition of Assassin's Creed, which is due out on April 9th.

And that's not all! In the coming weeks we can expect to see a lot more UbiSoft games hitting Steam, including more entries from the Tom Clancy series, the Heroes of Might & Magic series, the IL-2 Sturmovik collection, and more.

According to Valve, the UbiSoft line-up will be the largest library of titles available on Steam from any single publisher or developer.

Well, that's a Good step in the sense that "Splinter Cell" is starforce protected (CD) and the steam version shouldn't be (starforced).

This was always something that stopped x64 XP Pro / x64 Vista users as the older starforce isn't / wasn't compatable. Hopefully by going on Steam this problem will be solved

Now if only steam was a bit cheaper for some games... (once you add the VAT it works out cheaper to order from other online shops and receive a proper case, manual, physical media)
