Wrath of the Lich King Due Out In Second Half Of 08

According to Vivendi Games' latest financial report, Blizzard Entertainment's highly anticipated World of WarCraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack will be hitting stores in the second half of 2008. An exact date isn't given, but at least we know it's coming this year...barring a delay of course. ;)

Straight from the horses mouth:

Very good operating achievements were offset by non recurring or calendar impacts: the first quarter of 2007 included notably the successful launch of the first expansion set World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (the second expansion set is anticipated to be released in the second half of 2008) and the favorable settlement of a tax litigation.

The report goes on to praise WoW's continued success, claiming the popular MMORPG is now home to a whopping 10.7 million subscribers, which is an increase of about 700,000 over the past year. Click here for more financial jibba-jabba!

Pretty much what was expected based on the timing of the friends and family Alpha start. My bet is on early November launch for the expansion.
