Age of Conan Getting Patched Up
Funcom has moved in quickly to squish the most obvious exploits from Age of Conan. No word yet if those found abusing the recently fixed leveling exploits will get the banstick, but one thing is certain - vast majority of the level 80 characters out there right now have used some kind of a loophole to level up in short order. Despite the rapid fixes, at the moment the players appear to be finding new problems faster than Funcom can fix them. I've personally bumped into numerous new issues betraying the unfinished state of the game since our first impressions were published.
On related news, Traders are still disabled, but at least Funcom acknowledged the issue on the official forums.
"We are fixing the traders and the banks but some exploits would still be possible with the version we have now. We know how important it is to have traders and banks back in the game but the system must work absolutely correct before we put them live again. The possible exploits that would result when this is not ensured would lead to much bigger issues for all players."
As the patch notes are hidden from non-subscribers, here is a copy of the latest patch notes:

And, in addition to these documented changes, there are plenty of undocumented ones. Necromancers and Demonologists were effectively nerfed to itty bitty pieces, while Tempest of Set just got their root nerfed by a long cooldown and Idol of Set bugfixed (no more spamming of it in huge numbers, only one up, thank you).
There are also reports that client performance on ATI hardware has improved, and the silly client crash on logout is gone. |

Was it deserved, in your opinion? |

I haven't played either class myself - I hear Demonologists were the worst offenders in the "exploiting our way to victory" race, so some of it was probably just to tone down the rate they could kill stuff. Then again some people on the official forums judged the changes to effectively break the class, make it completely unplayable.
Tempest of Set changes were more sane - however, I would have put more reasonable cooldown on the root. 30 seconds is just too long... right now it was being spammed (nuke - root - nuke - root) to kill single melee mobs without much risk, but 30 sec CD makes it pretty useless.
Then again Age of Conan has plenty of such imbalanced, untuned or just plain worthless skills, feats and abilities. What's one more? |

| These seem like very small changes compared to what is actually needed, and what I expected them to make this far into launch. |
