While the full unveiling with all the gory details has to wait until the San Diego Comic Con next week, SOE has published the E3 preview trailer of DC Universe Online. It's a superhero MMO developed both for the PC and the PS3, and promoted as a major PS3 title in the Sony's E3 press conference. While it bears more than a passing resemblance to City of Heroes... hey, it has Batman, Superman AND The Joker!

SOE's track record isn't the best in the business, but who knows - they should have the necessary budget and plenty of previous in-house experience on all the things that can go wrong with a MMO, so I guess there is hope. Should the game turn out to be something more than City of Heroes with DC trademarks attached, it could be interesting.

No release date has been announced yet, but this looks like a potential 2009 release.
