Splinter Cell: Conviction Delayed

Surprising no one, the folks over at Ubisoft have announced that their highly anticipated Stealth title, Splinter Cell: Conviction, has been delayed once again. Previously scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of the company's 2008-09 fiscal year, the game is now expected to ship in fiscal 2009-10, which runs from April 2009 to March 2010. A reason for the delay wasn't given, but the development team recently stated that the gameplay has "evolved" and that they'd be showing the game again in the coming months. We'll keep you posted on any new developments.

"Evolved" What's the betting they took at look at the flak that Assassin's Creed got it's repetitive and simplistic gameplay, and realised that it might not be such a good idea to it with Conviction too. Ubisoft seemed to have lost a lot of focus and direction of late.
