League of Legends AnnouncedCreating a little buzz today, Riot Games has officially announced the development of League of Legends, an online Strategy-RPG based on the popular WarCraft 3 mod DotA-Allstars. No release date is given, but they do promise to roll out a closed beta in early 2009. Anyways, here's a little snippet from the press release: "League of Legends will bring gamers competitive battle-arena style gameplay that builds upon and expands on innovative gameplay concepts that were pioneered in DotA-Allstars, one of the most popular mods of all time," Brandon Beck, co-founder and CEO, Riot Games, said. "The team is applying its expertise and passion to producing a game that fuses premium art and gameplay features with deep community tools."
