Hellgate: London Servers Going Offline In Feb 2009

Putting an end to the whole Hellgate: London saga, NAMCO BANDAI has announced that they'll be shutting down the game's servers on January 31st, 2009. The good news, if there is any, is that until the servers officially shut down, they'll continue to provide free server support. Here's the scoop:

Santa Clara, Calif., (October 24, 2008) - NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., today announced that they will continue to support customers of PC game Hellgate™: London with online server support and play through January 31, 2009 despite the closure of Flagship Studios. In a further gesture of support, Namco Bandai Games will provide this server support free of charge to all fans and players of the game up until the shut down date.

NAMCO BANDAI Games appreciate the enthusiasm of all the Hellgate: London players and looks forward to providing them with future entertainment products.

For questions regarding the shut down or additional information about Hellgate: London, please visit the game’s official website at www.hellgatelondon.com.

Enjoy it while it lasts I guess. :/

While it sucks for people that lost their jobs, im glad that it didnt keep limping along earning Roper sushi money. The game was a mess and I honestly dont think he cared.

Atleast I get to finally play the stonehege since they opened it up to every one. Even tho I beat the game before the stonehege came out.

The usa servers are the only one thats going down jan 31, but the korean one run by another company is gonna stay up and there working on the 2.0 patch for there own Korean servers =/, I would rather if they took over the usa server also. .I did Enjoy the game while It lasted and played the hell out of it. Atleast I can play it offline in SP mode.

I do know the game would had did better as a RPG and not a MMO, That what really killed it. It trying to be something that it isnt. While charging money for sub items and new areas. Alot of people wasnt gonna pay for it.

Only the people that had no sense payed for those. The game was too much like a normal RPG to be marketed as a MMO.
