Final Fantasy XIV Online Teaser Site Launched

Square-Enix has launched an official "teaser site" of Final Fantasy XIV Online. Included is the trailer and a set of impressive screenshots - assuming the material is truly from in-game visuals and not pre-rendered. Little solid information is available yet, but the site does mention the following details:

  • Final Fantasy XIV
  • Playstation 3, Windows
  • Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game
  • 2010
  • Price and Subscription Fees TBA

Producer: Hiromichi Tanaka (FF I, II, II, XI)
Director: Nobuaki Komoto (FF IX, XI)
Art Director: Akihiko Yoshida (Vagrant Story, FF XII)
Music: Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy Series)

So, the game is obviously a follow-up to Final Fantasy XI Online and it will be released simultaneously worldwide in Japanese, English, French and German. It will be interesting to see if Square-Enix have tailored the game more towards western audiences - FFXI was just a bit too grindy to my tastes.

I just dont get it.

We've heard nothing about untill yesturday and its got an impressive trailer and a release date already? Besides leaked information We've not recieved an equal amount of information on 13 yet!!!

Am I to assume that more importance was placed on yet another online game?

Call me Biased, but Im downright sick of mmo's and sooooo much importance placed on multiplayer nowdays, it seems to hollow out great games and ideas and water them down to former remnants of themselves to ensure that a large number of people are getting the same experience.

Wheres my information on FF13?
