Square-Enix has launched an official "teaser site" of Final Fantasy XIV Online. Included is the trailer and a set of impressive screenshots - assuming the material is truly from in-game visuals and not pre-rendered. Little solid information is available yet, but the site does mention the following details:
- Final Fantasy XIV
- Playstation 3, Windows
- Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game
- 2010
- Price and Subscription Fees TBA
Producer: Hiromichi Tanaka (FF I, II, II, XI)
Director: Nobuaki Komoto (FF IX, XI)
Art Director: Akihiko Yoshida (Vagrant Story, FF XII)
Music: Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy Series)
So, the game is obviously a follow-up to Final Fantasy XI Online and it will be released simultaneously worldwide in Japanese, English, French and German. It will be interesting to see if Square-Enix have tailored the game more towards western audiences - FFXI was just a bit too grindy to my tastes.
