Huxley Going Free-To-Play, Dropping Cross-Platform Play

Straight out of this year's E3, an ijji.com representative has confirmed to JoyStiq that their upcoming massively multiplayer online FPS, Huxley, has switched to a Free-To-Play subscription model with microtransactions and that they've dropped cross-platform play between the PC and Xbox 360. Pretty sad news for the much-hyped title, but at least it sounds like they're closing in on an actual launch. It's been a looong wait. :x

Another potential game going to the crapper... F2P is a plague.

Drop the crack, F2P is a good thing. More people will play the game now that its F2P. and just because a game is F2p do not mean its crappy. As there are many good F2p games out there.

Granted they been better if they had you buy the game instead of microtransactions.

I have to agree, some games like diablo and guild wars were ok F2P. This whole game was based arounf being a MMO, boy the wheels sure fell of this project what the hell happened?

They were okay, because they didn't have the microtransaction aspect.

These days "F2P" equals "microtransactions". I have no issues with games that are sold at full price and are then free to play online. The milking for extra nickels and dimes by selling in-game perks is the bit where I enrage.
