I'm sorry, but it looks outdated with crappy world of warcraft type artwork. Dissapointment for me as much as I loved the Diablo series. I hope they don't have the same type of artwork for Starcraft 2....
On a positive note, I'm sure the gameplay will be great! |

I wish I knew where people come up with this stuff, ive played WoW more than I should, and I sure as heck cant see much similarities in the artwork. |

| It is very wow like, and I have to agree it looks very outdated. Will be close to ugly by the time its supposed to be released. Sure it'll be a good game but the graphics are a bit dissapointing. |

If you take a look at the character textures and models - you will see its very 'blocky', colours are almost 'cartoon' like. Even the environment graphics are well...unimpressive in the same fasion. A good example is picture 3 with the closest character on the left side. Look at the hair texure, the arms, the colours...its incredibly similar to the artwork of WoW - probably because its the same artists (unfortuntately) |

Yea I much prefer every game have only brown/black... any game with color is a WoW knockoff.
Seriously... I just dont see it.
Besides WoW art/models are just a progression of warcraft art/models, its not like WoW invented the style. |

These screenshots seem to be suffering a bit from too much jpeg compression, take a look at some of the shots on the official site and it looks a bit better.
That said, it still doesn't look like it's going to be pushing any graphical boundaries. In that regard it doesn't look like it's going to be distinguishing itself all that much from the likes of Torchlight or Titan Quest.
If you do happen to be a fan of Blizzard art style though (and a lot of us are), then the art will make it stand apart from the crowd visually. This is pretty typical Blizzard really, they take a long time, release late, have fairly low requirements to keep it accessible while focusing more on their art than sheer graphical trickery. If this is dissapointing to anyone, then I'm not sure where they got the impression that Blizzard would do any different. |

ugh... take a look at how the original Diablo games looked and to the art style being used now. Despite the obvious technological advances, I personally think the original diablo games were less cartoon-like then whats being shown now. Btw, there is a huge difference in how the colours are being used for realism as opposed to bright and overly done to bring 'pop' or 'flash' to add the graphic enhancements. This is unrealistic in my point of view and is done to appeal to a mass audience (ie. younger ages).
Just look at what happened to Spore for god sakes. In early pics, the game looked pretty damn good with (dare I say) realistic creatures. Then they added tons of color, goofy movements, and buggy-eyed characters. Completely ruined the game in my opinion |

| I think the Diablo 3 screenshots are fairly reminiscent of the concept art from the previous two. Really, it's just Blizzards art style, I think the previous two titles just weren't technically proficient enough to let the style really shine through. |

Actually at the bottom of the screenshots page it says Diablo 3 is scheduled to release in 2011.
Wonder if that is official from Blizzard or just something the editor threw in there that sounded right. |
