NewsLost Planet DX10 Patch & Map Pack Coming Next WeekStraight from my bad-o-email comes word that on August 16th, Capcom will be releasing a DirectX 10 patch and a second map pack for the PC edition of their 3rd person Action title, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Adding to the game's visual beauty, the new DX10 features will include depth of field effects, improved motion blur and fur shading. The patch will also feature a basic chatting system via the multiplayer lobby, in-game and at the results screen. As for Map Pack #2, here's a breif description of the new levels: "Battleground," an abandoned town scattered with rubble from ruined buildings, featuring indoor/outdoor areas with multi-level vantage points. "Lost Technology," a throw-back to the good ol' days of pixelated 8-bit gaming. "Ruins," ancient temples set amidst a lush jungle. "Ice Drop," a frigid glacier with lots of peaks, nooks and crannies. Alongside the PC update, Xbox360 owners will be able to download the same maps for free through the Xbox Live Marketplace. So keep your eyes peeled!
