Quake Wars will run on your Grandma's PC

Ancient PCs to get some Quake Wars lovin'

Splash Damage, the developer of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars told us the official minimum system requirements for their highly anticipated multiplayer shooter today at GC 2007. The minimum requirements have dropped significantly from the Beta version - the new specs are very close to Quake IV, except for the graphics card requirement. Here are the full minimum specs:

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2000 MHz or AMD Athlon XP 2000+
Display Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 (or ATI equivalent, Radeon 9600)
with 128MB of video memory
System memory: 512MB
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista

Demo out in mid-September

You can use the Game-o-Meter right now to check if your system can run Quake Wars! You'll also get to try the game before you buy, as there will be a public demo version in mid-September - a couple of weeks before the game is released (on September 28 in Europe and Australia, and on October 2 in the U.S.).
