Hope you have a fast system

Vehicle cockpits have many nice details such as a list of players onboard.

ET: Quake Wars engine is based on a heavily customized Doom 3 engine with further refinement by iD Software. Currently the visuals are not overly impressive, but I'll refrain from commenting on them further as it's possible that the texture set and other visual candy has been cut down to keep the demo size reasonable (approximately 900 megabytes). System Requirements are not finalized, but the beta sets the recommended system at Pentium 4 3.5 Ghz, 1GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 6800GT 256MB or ATI Radeon X850 256MB (so SM2.0 capable card is required). It is unclear at this time if the beta includes the highest resolution art assets as some trailers have shown graphics that do not match what the beta shows. In any case based on our testing so far, a pretty high end system is strongly recommended - even our test system with FX-62 and HD2900 XT can't push constant 60fps at 1600x1200. There are still some rough edges, most notably with animations appearing a touch jerky, but there is still plenty of time prior to release to polish things like this. It's also important too note that the requirements are still preliminary and could change before release.

ETQW offers a wide variety of statistics after each round.

The beta test is currently ongoing, with waves of keys being distributed to Fileplanet Subscribers. Further keys will be distributed also to non-subscribers at a later date. We had no problems procuring the key in the first wave, but at this time you need to pay for the Fileplanet subscription to get in. You also need to pass a check on your system specifications, ensuring that a key is not wasted on a user without the required hardware.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars looks set for early autumn release. If Splash Damage can get the balancing just right, and polishes off the remaining rough spots, it could seriously contest for the top spot of the genre. As the code is clearly not finished and the servers exhibit some clear performance issues at this moment, it's far too early to say anything final. We'll keep our eye on this one, and you can expect a full YouGamers review close to the actual release.
