The Titans have escaped their eternal prison, wreaking havoc upon the earth. The gods seek a hero who can turn the tide in an epic struggle that will determine the fate of both men and gods. Are you ready for the journey? Ah, Titan Quest, the game that filled the gap that has been left since the Diablo series were on our systems. Is it the next RPG for you to buy or should it be left on the shelf?

You start off with the Character creation screen where you choose whether you want to be the Hero or Heroine, choosing their name and finally choosing what colour garment you wish to use. There are no options to select your height or build though, so nearly every Hero will look the same which makes it less personal. Once you have started the game, you are greeted with a gorgeous top-down 3D environment, which you can zoom in and out with your mouse scroll. The engine also includes a day and night cycle (when do you sleep?), with the sound and music fitting perfectly to supply the perfect atmosphere that pulls you into the experience. Luckily, you do get to admire the scenery and take in the full awe of the work created as it's not all fast and furious.

Exploring the land soon reveals good folk in need of some assistance.
Instructions are always simple and to-the-point.

For those that have not played an RPG before should not be afraid of Titan Quest as they will find that most options are instantly available with the left click. Left click on the screen to move there, left click on an enemy to attack it and so on; but there is more depth for experienced RPG gamers too. The control system also caters for the clickers or the holders! Let me explain what I mean; you can either click to attack or walk, or you can hold down the left mouse button to automatically continue attacking or move to where your cursor is. For the smaller battles, you'll probably find yourself holding the mouse button down, while in larger battles, you’ll probably click for more control.
