Verdict: Boring

I'll be honest upfront - I dislike Korean-style grind MMOs. I can see that Granado Espada has tried to introduce some original ideas, such as the ability for the socially challenged players to have their own personal group using Multi Character Control. At the same time the end result feels like a single player game with chat and trading features tacked on to please money farmers. Since everyone can run around with their own MMO Holy Trinity of a Tank, a Healer and a DPS class, there is little incentive to socialize with other players. As there are deadlines to hit, I simply didn't have time to grind enough to see if things change in later levels, but based on available information gathered from related forums, the answer seems to be "No, not really".

Must...grind...more...exp...
Pretty visuals, but the gameplay side is too Korean for me.

So, if you seek another hack & slash game and enjoy grinding endless piles of unimaginative monsters, each killable in one or two hits and have an uncontrollable urge to roll alts, drooling at the prospect of thirty six characters, Sword of the New World: Granado Espada might offer something for you. Those not so enticed by endless grinding are better served by any number of western MMO offerings. The whole game design philosophy is so radically different that you will probably either totally love or utterly hate this game. I hated it, and the odds are most of you will too. On the upside it's free to try out, and it runs on almost any PC, so by all means, give it a go if you've not experienced this style of game before.

Scores

Gameplay 57 Repetitive monster bash fest with enough automation to allow you to watch TV while you "play". Linear play areas, clumsy and unintuitive user interface, no incentives to socialize or group with other players. Oh, and the publisher wants you to buy virtual items with real money.
Graphics 84 General art direction and many of the models look outright gorgeous. On the other hand there are nearly zero character customization options, and any equipment you find doesn't change your appearance in any way.
Audio 82 Music style is somewhat unusual, but what's there has high production values. No voiceovers, weak sound effects.
Technology 79 The graphics engine stutters on texture loads even on systems ten times beyond what's required. On the upside the game is quite playable on fairly old systems, but the graphics options don't scale far enough.
OVERALL

Certain type of MMO player might enjoy this. I didn't, but I can see that some aspects of the game design appeal to the intended audience. Rest of us probably can't stomach the mindless grinding. Unquestionably Korean, in both good and bad.
