Simple game ideas are often the best ones, and when you combine a simple idea with pixel-perfect implementation, you have a great game. Trials 2: Second Edition is a textbook example of a simple, skill-intensive game idea polished to perfection and married with pretty high-tech visuals. Do you have the driving skills to take on the insane tracks of Trials 2: Second Edition? According to Vivendi Games' latest financial report, Blizzard Entertainment's highly anticipated World of WarCraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack will be hitting stores in the second half of 2008. An exact date isn't given, but at least we know it's coming this year...barring a delay of course. ;) Straight from the horses mouth: Very good operating achievements were offset by non recurring or calendar impacts: the first quarter of 2007 included notably the successful launch of the first expansion set World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (the second expansion set is anticipated to be released in the second half of 2008) and the favorable settlement of a tax litigation. The report goes on to praise WoW's continued success, claiming the popular MMORPG is now home to a whopping 10.7 million subscribers, which is an increase of about 700,000 over the past year. Running just under two minutes long, the video shows off the game's building tools and extensive customization options. Looking pretty solid! Check it out after the jump: Keeping things interesting on this slow news day, the guys over at Codemasters have announced some new details on the multiplayer portion of their upcoming racing title, Race Driver: GRID. According to official press release, we can expect 12-player races with 32 online events, 80 different circuits, 15 intercontinental locations, full car damage, a spectator mode, an online ranking system, and much, much more! Hit the full story for all the details: Kicking things off today, Capcom has announced that the upcoming Colonies Edition of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition has gone gold and will be hitting stores on May 27th. Sporting a MSRP of $29.99, the game features a host of new goodies including 4 new maps, 5 new playable characters, 10 new weapons, several new gameplay modes, and cross-platform support. Capcom has gone above and beyond to bring the epic Lost Planet experience to an expanded audience. Finally, for fans that want to take their skills to a whole new level, the new Off Limit Mode will allow players to take on Lost Planet’s harsh environments and enemies with over-the-top, super-charged weapons and a powered-up grappling hook. So don't miss it! :D Hot on the heels of the system requirements, the playable demo of LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is now available for download at the Games For Windows site. The 470MB file contains a tasty piece of the game from the early part of the Raiders of the Lost Ark. A gamepad is definitely recommended, as the controls are designed with the XBox 360 pad in mind, but beyond that it looks like great fun. Can't wait for the final game (scheduled to arrive June 3rd).
