Do I win anything for spotting a difference?

Their difference highlighter must have still had the cap on.

OMFG 2009-09-26 #3
Not a big difference IMHO!

Come on guys, the DX11 screenie looks a lot better, just close your eyes and really try to imagine it!

Drakemoor 2009-09-26 #5
looks like someone has just changed the contrast a little, are there any net gains besides that? how about performance?

Yeah to be honest they could have tagged the DX 10 with DX 11 and vise versa and they still would have been peeps that said "Wow look at that dx11!!" There might be some higher gamma and softer shadows in there but not too much difference. Without even considering dx10/dx11 i perfer some of the dx10 shots. They should have put the fps counter on there to show performance increase/decrease.

What are you talking about they are different as day and ehmm....slightly later that day.

scottz63 2009-09-26 #8
I don't really see much of anything. Maybe it's just faster.

It looks little better, but nothing new or awesome :/ Just another "DX9 vs. DX10" :/

^ Exactly. The difference is obvious but nothing to call home about.

I agree.

If that's what DX11 games will look like, I'd rather stick with my DX10 card for now!

(Yes, I know there is a lot more to DX11 than those pics! But atm, those differences are lame.)

I miust say the shadows are lot more crisp

Dam.. another "subtle" yet hardly noticed if u squint yer eyes to find the differences.. hence... dx9 vs dx10.. all over again...

Oh well, at least this time they wont force to get new o/s to use dx11, as Vista will have dx11 also.

I must admit, the DX11 shots do make things look a bit more realistic/life like to me, and the shadowing ranged from slightly better to much better within the screenies offered. All in all, not a major upgrade but a change for the better none the less. We all do understand that as we get closer and closer to "life like" graphics, the leaps being made get smaller and smaller, right?

Having said that, why would you "squint your eyes" when taking in comparisons? Why would you not want to look at it normally, like when gaming??
